Senior Business Analyst – Data Governance & Analytics
Location: Texas (Remote)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Length: 12 Months + Potential Extensions
Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with expertise in data governance, metadata management, analytics, and emerging AI technologies. This role will act as a key bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, helping organizations improve data quality, reporting capabilities, and enterprise-wide data literacy.

The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis skills with deep experience in data ecosystems, reporting, metadata management, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and document business requirements for enterprise data initiatives.
  • Serve as liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Support metadata management, data lineage, and data governance programs.
  • Analyze complex datasets and communicate findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Develop reporting solutions and data visualization requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to improve data quality.
  • Create training materials and promote organizational data literacy.
  • Support AI-enabled reporting initiatives and validate AI-generated outputs.
  • Develop reusable prompt templates and best practices for AI-assisted analysis.
  • Create documentation, process flows, and governance standards.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Governance experience.
  • Strong SQL experience for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience translating technical concepts into business language.
  • Experience gathering requirements and supporting enterprise analytics initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse experience.
  • Metadata management and data lineage experience.
  • Data governance and data quality expertise.
  • Experience with enterprise data catalog tools.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments.
  • Training and mentoring experience.
  • AI prompt development or prompt engineering experience.
