Job Description

Business Process Analyst – Product Management
Location: Remote (Must reside in TX, AZ, KY, TN, GA, SC, NC, FL)
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Turn Complex Business Problems into Clear, Actionable Solutions
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is partnering with a growing organization seeking a Business Process Analyst to support its Product Management function during a period of increased business activity.

This opportunity is ideal for an analyst who enjoys working directly with business stakeholders, uncovering operational challenges, documenting how work is performed, and developing practical solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery.

You will help transform loosely defined business needs into documented workflows, actionable requirements, standard operating procedures, management reports, training materials, and implementation-ready recommendations.

This is a business process and operational analysis position supported by data. It is not a database development or advanced SQL programming role.
What You’ll Do
  • Interview business stakeholders, subject-matter experts, and process owners to understand operational needs, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Document current-state processes, future-state workflows, business rules, procedures, and process dependencies.
  • Gather, analyze, validate, and document business and functional requirements.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for standardization or automation.
  • Develop process maps, standard operating procedures, training materials, reference guides, and other business documentation.
  • Research business problems, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Use operational data to investigate issues, identify trends, validate findings, and support business recommendations.
  • Write basic to intermediate SQL queries to retrieve, review, reconcile, or validate data.
  • Create management reports and clearly communicate findings, trends, and potential business impacts.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions, address competing priorities, and build consensus around proposed solutions.
  • Perform cost-benefit and impact analysis when evaluating process changes.
  • Support user acceptance testing, solution validation, implementation activities, and post-implementation follow-up.
  • Coordinate with Product Management, Operations, Technology, Compliance, Project Management, and other business teams.
  • Help transition approved solutions to implementation teams when formal project delivery support is required.
  • Provide process training and ongoing support to business users as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Two or more years of experience in business analysis, business process analysis, operational analysis, product operations, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience personally creating process maps, workflows, business requirements, procedures, or standard operating procedures.
  • Strong stakeholder interviewing and requirements-discovery skills.
  • Ability to formulate effective questions, uncover root causes, and distinguish stated requests from underlying business needs.
  • Experience analyzing operational data and translating findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL experience, preferably within Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create clear, organized, and usable documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to manage assignments independently while working collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to solve moderately complex business problems within established policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
The Most Successful Candidates Will Have
  • Experience documenting both current-state and future-state business processes.
  • Hands-on experience developing SOPs, procedures, training materials, business requirements, or functional documentation.
  • Experience leading stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, workshops, or requirements meetings.
  • The ability to use SQL and Excel to investigate operational questions rather than relying entirely on technical teams for data.
  • Experience presenting multiple solution options and helping stakeholders reach agreement.
  • A track record of moving recommendations beyond documentation and into testing, implementation, or operational adoption.
Preferred Experience
  • Mortgage servicing, consumer lending, banking, financial services, insurance, or another regulated business environment.
  • Experience supporting Product Management, Operations, Compliance, Technology, or enterprise transformation teams.
  • Familiarity with process-mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting business-system enhancements, application implementations, or workflow automation initiatives.
  • User acceptance testing and defect-validation experience.
  • Experience creating and delivering end-user training.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors, government organizations, external partners, or multiple corporate divisions.

Industry experience is valuable, but candidates with strong process analysis, stakeholder discovery, documentation, and data analysis experience from other complex operational environments are encouraged to apply.
