Epic ECSA Server Engineer

Type: Contract (Potential for Extension)
Work Setting: Remote  (Eligible States: TX, FL, AZ, SC, NC, KY, GA, IN, TN)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST

Candidate Location Requirement: Candidates must currently reside in Texas, Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, Indiana, or Tennessee to be considered.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Epic ECSA Server Engineer to support a large healthcare organization's Epic technical infrastructure. This position will support Epic application deployment platforms, servers, networks, system performance, capacity planning, configuration management, and related technologies across production and non-production environments.

The engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting Epic environments used for production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and other operations. This role will collaborate closely with Epic and internal technical and application teams to maintain system availability, troubleshoot issues, perform upgrades, and ensure Epic infrastructure follows established technical standards and best practices.

Hard Requirements

  • Current Epic ECSA Certification at the time of submission.

  • Minimum 3 years of direct Epic ECSA experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive IT experience.

  • Experience in one or more of the following:

    • Web Services

    • Server Administration

    • Systems Engineering

    • Network Administration

  • Must currently reside in TX, FL, AZ, SC, NC, KY, GA, IN, or TN.

Candidates who do not currently hold an Epic ECSA certification cannot be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, manage, maintain, and configure Epic application deployment platforms.

  • Support production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production Epic environments.

  • Install and maintain administrative and monitoring tools supporting system performance and availability.

  • Apply Epic and platform upgrades and updates to production and non-production web server components.

  • Assist with configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third-party software and peripherals.

  • Follow Epic and vendor best practices for hardware and software configuration.

  • Monitor system performance and assist with capacity planning.

  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.

  • Troubleshoot outstanding system issues and technical tasks.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and system information within a centralized knowledge base.

  • Collaborate with Epic and internal technical teams to provide proactive system support.

  • Respond to user and system issues in a timely manner.

  • Manage individual workload while contributing effectively within a larger technical team.

  • Prioritize assignments and meet established project deadlines.

Candidates should also understand operating system concepts including:

  • User and group ownership

  • File permissions

  • File systems

  • Volume group configuration

  • Server administration and maintenance processes

  • Experience working in collaborative technical environments.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare IT regulations.

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor's degree

  • Current Epic ECSA Certification

Additional Information

  • Remote contract opportunity with potential for extension.

  • Candidates must consistently work Central Time Zone hours, generally 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST.

  • After-hours support may occasionally be required during go-live periods.

  • A company laptop will be provided. Contractors are responsible for any additional equipment needed, including monitors.

  • Candidates must currently reside in one of the eligible states listed above.
