GIS QA Analyst Location: Fort Worth, TX Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) Position Type: Contract (October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027) Contract Duration: 12 Months with Possible Extension Overview We are seeking a GIS QA Analyst to support enterprise stormwater management and infrastructure initiatives by ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of geospatial data. This role combines GIS quality assurance, spatial analysis, automation, dashboard development, and data visualization to improve business processes and support operational and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing GIS datasets, performing spatial analysis, developing automated workflows, and creating dashboards that provide actionable insights for infrastructure and asset management. Key Responsibilities
GIS Data Quality & Stewardship
Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of enterprise GIS datasets.
Perform quality assurance and validation of spatial data.
Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues.
Maintain GIS data standards and support data governance initiatives.
Spatial Analysis & Reporting
Perform advanced geospatial analysis to support operational and planning initiatives.
Analyze spatial datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement.
Produce maps, reports, and visualizations to support business and operational decisions.
Dashboard Development & Visualization
Design and maintain GIS dashboards and interactive reporting tools.
Develop visualizations that communicate complex spatial information to technical and business users.
Support executive and operational reporting requirements.
Automation & Process Improvement
Develop automated GIS workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
Support ongoing enhancements to GIS applications and business processes.
Recommend improvements to spatial data collection, maintenance, and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with engineering, operations, asset management, and planning teams.
Support stormwater management initiatives through GIS analysis and reporting.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver GIS solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field.
3–5 years of professional GIS experience.
Experience performing GIS data quality assurance and validation.
Experience with spatial analysis and geospatial data management.
Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in GIS, Geography, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Experience supporting Asset Management programs.
Experience supporting Capital Improvement Program (CIP) planning.
Knowledge of transportation or stormwater utility operations.
Experience automating GIS workflows and business processes.
