CAPPS HR/Payroll Reporting Analyst (PeopleSoft HCM) Location: Remote (Continental United States) Position Type: Long-Term Contract Industry: ERP / Human Resources Technology / Public Sector Overview We are seeking an experienced CAPPS HR/Payroll Reporting Analyst to support a large-scale PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) environment serving multiple agencies and statewide operations.
This role will focus on the design, development, maintenance, and support of complex HR and Payroll reporting solutions within a PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in PeopleSoft reporting tools, HR/Payroll data structures, statewide reporting requirements, and enterprise reporting best practices. Key Responsibilities
Reporting Development & Support
Design, develop, modify, and maintain enterprise HR/Payroll reports
Develop reporting solutions utilizing:
PeopleSoft Query Manager
Query Viewer
BI Publisher (XML Publisher)
PS Query expressions and complex joins
Business Intelligence and reporting tools
Translate business requirements into technical reporting specifications
Create report templates, layouts, bursting configurations, and automated reporting solutions
Data Analysis & Reporting Architecture
Analyze PeopleSoft HCM data structures, table relationships, effective-dating logic, and complex data dependencies
Develop cross-functional reports integrating data from:
Human Resources
Payroll
Time & Labor
Position Management
Recruiting and related modules
Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and compliance with business requirements
Optimize report performance and query efficiency for large enterprise datasets
Testing & Quality Assurance
Develop and execute:
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Regression Testing
Report validation testing
Upgrade and patch impact testing
Validate report outputs and ensure data integrity across environments
Support reporting remediation during upgrades, maintenance, and release cycles
Functional & Application Support
Provide advanced support for reporting-related issues and service requests
Troubleshoot report failures, data discrepancies, and performance concerns
Participate in enhancement initiatives and application support activities
Support configuration and functional analysis efforts as needed
Documentation & Training
Create and maintain:
Report inventories
Design specifications
Data dictionaries
Runbooks
Test plans
User documentation
Provide end-user support and reporting guidance
Conduct knowledge transfer and training activities
Governance & Compliance
Ensure reports comply with:
Security requirements
Role-based access controls
Data privacy standards
Accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.1)
Support audit, compliance, and governance initiatives
Participate in disaster recovery and testing activities
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience supporting HR/Payroll reporting within PeopleSoft HCM 9.2
8+ years of experience developing reports using:
Query Manager
Query Viewer
BI Publisher
PS Query
8+ years of experience supporting large-scale PeopleSoft ERP environments
8+ years of experience analyzing:
Effective-dated records
Table relationships
Multi-row data structures
Complex reporting requirements
8+ years of experience with:
Data integration
Data quality
SDLC methodologies
Testing and validation processes
8+ years of experience creating WCAG 2.1-compliant reporting materials
Experience supporting cross-functional reporting across multiple HCM modules
