IT Project Manager

Type: Long-term Contract

Location: Blythewood, SC 29016

Work Setting: Hybrid - onsite 75% and remote work is 25%

Schedule: 37.5 Hours/Week Monday - Friday

Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate enterprise-level technology initiatives from planning through delivery. This position will manage project scope, schedules, deliverables, stakeholders, and reporting while ensuring projects stay on track and aligned with organizational priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a fast-moving technology environment with multiple short- and long-term IT initiatives, offering meaningful work, strong collaboration, and high-impact outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the IT project manager for assigned initiatives from inception through completion

  • Manage project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations

  • Coordinate project activities with internal teams, leadership, and external partners

  • Establish meeting cadence to keep projects on schedule and aligned with goals

  • Track and manage budgets (where applicable), risks, issues, and task assignments

  • Escalate risks and issues to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner

  • Create and maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, and status reports

  • Produce meeting agendas, meeting notes, and project status updates for stakeholders

  • Support steering committee and strategic planning meetings through presentations and materials

  • Close out projects with final documentation and lessons learned

  • Maintain an accurate master IT project list

  • Collaborate with IT leadership and the Project Management Office to help develop and codify standardized project management methodology, processes, and standards

Required skills

  • PMP certification

  • 5+ years of project management experience

  • 3+ years project management experience managing enterprise-level IT projects

  • 1+ year of experience with ServiceNow

  • 3+ years of experience with budgeting

Preferred skills

  • Experience managing system modernization initiatives

  • Experience working with state agencies

  • Experience collaborating with external vendors

Required education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, information technology, or a related field

Required certifications

  • PMP

Additional skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to compose clear, concise reports, documents, and correspondence

  • Thorough understanding of information technology concepts, terminology, and standards

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals
