Senior IT Project Manager – AI, Infrastructure & Clinical Technology
Location: Louisville, KY
Work Model: Hybrid
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
Travel: Approximately 10%
The Opportunity
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex, enterprise-level technology initiatives spanning Artificial Intelligence, infrastructure, clinical technology, and digital transformation.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned technology project leader who is comfortable operating at the intersection of business strategy, technical delivery, and organizational change. You will partner with technical teams, business leaders, clinical stakeholders, vendors, and executive sponsors to move high-impact initiatives from concept and planning through implementation and adoption.

We are looking for someone who does more than maintain project plans. The ideal candidate understands how modern technology programs are delivered, can navigate ambiguity, anticipate dependencies and risks, and create the structure necessary to keep highly technical, cross-functional teams moving toward measurable outcomes.
What You’ll Do

  • Own the full project lifecycle, from discovery, requirements, planning, and project definition through implementation, transition, and closeout.

  • Lead technology initiatives involving areas such as:

    • Artificial Intelligence and AI-enabled capabilities

    • Enterprise infrastructure

    • Cloud and platform modernization

    • Clinical and healthcare technology

    • Enterprise applications and integrations

    • Data, automation, and digital transformation

  • Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, milestones, dependencies, resources, budget, risks, and deliverables.

  • Establish project governance and maintain clear accountability across technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

  • Drive project milestones and proactively identify issues that could impact delivery.

  • Facilitate technical and business discussions across teams with different priorities, terminology, and levels of technical expertise.

  • Translate complex technical initiatives into clear project status, business impacts, risks, decisions, and next steps for executive stakeholders.

  • Coordinate project resources across engineering, infrastructure, security, AI, clinical, application, and operational teams.

  • Manage project scope and ensure changes are evaluated, documented, communicated, and incorporated through an effective change-management process.

  • Track project budgets, forecasts, resource utilization, dependencies, risks, issues, and overall project health.

  • Lead recurring project meetings, steering discussions, technical checkpoints, and executive status reviews.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, decision logs, RAID logs, roadmaps, status reports, and implementation plans.

  • Partner with technical teams to coordinate testing, deployment, production readiness, operational handoffs, and post-implementation activities.

  • Support organizational adoption of new technology capabilities by ensuring stakeholders understand what is changing, why it matters, and what is required for successful implementation.
Required Qualifications

  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

  • Strong experience managing enterprise IT projects or technology programs from initiation through implementation.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex projects involving multiple technical and business teams.

  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, dependencies, resources, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Ability to manage several interconnected workstreams while maintaining visibility into critical-path dependencies.

  • Strong understanding of technology delivery environments and the ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, developers, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity professionals, data teams, and business stakeholders.

  • Experience producing executive-level project reporting and communicating technical information to nontechnical audiences.

  • Strong change-management, stakeholder-management, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical judgment and the ability to make decisions in fast-moving or ambiguous environments.

  • Advanced proficiency with project-management and business-productivity tools including Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Highly Desired
Experience leading projects involving one or more of the following would be especially valuable:

  • Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or enterprise AI adoption

  • AI governance, responsible AI, or AI implementation programs

  • Infrastructure modernization

  • Cloud migration or cloud transformation

  • Cybersecurity or identity initiatives

  • Healthcare or clinical technology

  • Enterprise application implementations

  • Systems integration

  • Data platforms and analytics

  • Workflow automation

  • Microsoft Azure or other major cloud platforms

  • Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies

  • Vendor and third-party technology implementations

Healthcare experience is valuable but not required. Candidates coming from other highly regulated, complex enterprise environments may also be strong fits.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Project Manager in this role will quickly establish credibility with both technical and business stakeholders, bring structure to complex initiatives, and maintain visibility into the decisions, risks, dependencies, and actions necessary to keep programs moving forward.

You should be comfortable asking difficult questions, escalating issues when appropriate, challenging unrealistic timelines, and helping teams turn broad technology objectives into executable plans.

Most importantly, you will help ensure that significant technology investments translate into capabilities that are successfully implemented, adopted, and operationalized across the organization.
