Senior Solutions Architect – Business Continuity & Resilient Infrastructure Location: Dallas, TX Work Model: Onsite Engagement: Fractional Consulting Duration: 5–6 Months Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Solutions Architect for a fractional consulting engagement focused on business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilient infrastructure.
This is a senior, client-facing advisory role for an architect who can quickly assess complex technology environments, identify operational risks and single points of failure, and design practical solutions that improve availability and recoverability.
The consultant will work directly with technical and executive stakeholders to translate business-continuity objectives into resilient infrastructure strategies spanning datacenter, cloud, networking, compute, storage, backup, replication, security, and high availability.
What You'll Do
Lead technical discovery across infrastructure, connectivity, applications, workflows, dependencies, and operational risks.
Assess current-state environments and identify critical single points of failure.
Translate business requirements into RTOs, RPOs, availability targets, and data-loss tolerances.
Design resilient on-premises, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
Develop high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, replication, failover, and failback strategies.
Evaluate primary and secondary-site infrastructure and disaster-recovery readiness.
Design or coordinate resilient WAN, internet, carrier, SD-WAN, private circuit, and site-to-site connectivity.
Incorporate cybersecurity, monitoring, alerting, access controls, and operational management into proposed solutions.
Develop conceptual architectures, solution options, implementation roadmaps, bills of materials, and budgetary estimates.
Present technical recommendations, risks, assumptions, costs, and tradeoffs to executive and technical stakeholders.
Coordinate with vendors, carriers, internal engineering teams, and specialized partners.
Develop recovery-testing strategies, exercises, documentation standards, and ongoing readiness programs.
Support technical scoping, opportunity qualification, proposals, and client presentations.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, or a related technical discipline.
Demonstrated experience designing highly available and resilient enterprise infrastructure.
Required Background
Experience supporting mission-critical or continuous-operation environments is particularly valuable, including:
Live broadcast or streaming operations
Master control or playout automation
Satellite, RF, uplink/downlink, or transmission systems
Video contribution and distribution paths
Failover and disaster recovery for live production signals
Strong knowledge of:
Networking and connectivity
Compute and virtualization
Enterprise storage
Backup and replication
Cloud infrastructure
High availability and disaster recovery
Experience defining RTO, RPO, availability, recovery, and data-loss requirements.
Ability to identify dependencies and single points of failure across complex technology environments.
Knowledge of datacenter and facility resiliency, including power, cooling, physical security, and environmental considerations.
Understanding of carrier diversity, SD-WAN, private circuits, redundant internet connectivity, and automated network failover.
Excellent client-facing discovery, consulting, technical writing, and presentation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership.
Experience coordinating vendors, carriers, engineering teams, and external technical partners.
Additional preferred experience includes cybersecurity recovery, immutable backups, cyber vaulting, and ransomware-resilient architectures, as well as Azure, AWS, VMware, Microsoft infrastructure, enterprise storage, and leading backup/replication platforms.
Relevant cloud, networking, cybersecurity, business-continuity, or disaster-recovery certifications are a plus.
