Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
Position Type: Contract
Duration: Through June 2027 with potential extensions

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented JR Project Manager to support enterprise initiatives within a large healthcare and human services organization. This role is ideal for a project management professional who enjoys coordinating cross-functional efforts, driving accountability, improving processes, and ensuring projects stay on track from initiation through completion.

The Jr. Project Manager will assist with project planning, stakeholder coordination, status reporting, risk management, and process improvement efforts while supporting multiple teams and business units.

Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Coordination
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and action-item trackers
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple teams, departments, and stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule
  • Assist with project implementation and operational readiness activities
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, leadership, vendors, and business partners
  • Gather requirements, facilitate discussions, and support consensus-building efforts
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Manage expectations and promote collaboration across project teams
Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, delays, and barriers
  • Escalate issues when appropriate and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Track risk logs and support proactive issue resolution
Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare status reports, dashboards, meeting notes, and executive summaries
  • Maintain project documentation including action items, risk registers, and decision logs
  • Support leadership reporting and project governance activities
  • Ensure project records remain accurate and up to date
Process Improvement
  • Analyze business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Recommend efficiencies and support implementation of standardized project management practices
  • Participate in modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Meeting Facilitation & Leadership Support
  • Facilitate project meetings and working sessions
  • Track follow-up actions and ensure accountability among project participants
  • Support leadership teams with planning, coordination, and project execution activities

Required Qualifications
  • Active PMP Certification (Required)
  • 3+ years of project coordination or project management experience
  • Experience supporting cross-functional or cross-divisional projects
  • Experience developing:
    • Project plans
    • Timelines
    • Milestones
    • Action-item logs
    • Status reports
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Experience with risk and issue management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating executive-level reports and presentations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in large organizations or public sector environments
  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives
  • Exposure to automation, AI, or modernization projects
  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft Planner

    • SharePoint
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint
    • Power BI
    • Visio
    • Power Automate
    • Power Apps

Work Environment
  • Hybrid schedule:
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday onsite
    • Remote Monday and Thursday
  • Must reside within approximately 50 miles of Austin, Texas
  • Candidates must currently reside in Texas
  • Standard business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
