PROJECT MANAGER
Work Type: Contract
Estimated Duration: ~6 months
Estimated Hours: ~1,250
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Work Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Onsite/Remote: Hybrid – 2 days onsite, 3 days remote
Local Requirement: Must reside within commuting distance of Austin, TX

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a large-scale system modernization initiative. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a legacy system transformation aimed at improving automation, tracking, reporting, and audit capabilities. The Project Manager will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure successful delivery in alignment with established project governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a full lifecycle system modernization project
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and scope documentation
• Produce project artifacts, documentation, and executive-level presentations
• Facilitate recurring project meetings and provide regular written and verbal status updates
• Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to leadership and governance bodies
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams
• Track and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies
• Ensure adherence to organizational project standards and governance frameworks
• Oversee SDLC deliverables and ensure alignment with business requirements
• Support occasional after-hours or on-call needs based on project phase

Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of project management experience supporting large-scale enterprise implementations
• 8+ years of experience managing public sector or highly regulated projects
• 8+ years of experience leading legacy system modernization initiatives
• Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working within formal project delivery or governance frameworks
• Experience supporting modernization initiatives using low-code or no-code platforms
• Experience working with large, enterprise-wide systems
• Familiarity with oversight, audit, or quality assurance reporting processes
