QA Automation Engineer (Level 3) Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Position Type: Contract (No available for C2C)
Must currently reside in the Austin Area. Overview We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to support enterprise application modernization and contract management system initiatives within a large-scale healthcare and government technology environment.
This role will focus on automated and manual testing, test strategy development, defect management, and quality assurance activities across complex enterprise systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience with automation frameworks, Agile methodologies, and enterprise-level QA processes. Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation & Quality Assurance
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright or similar technologies
Create and execute manual and automated test cases
Develop automated execution schedules and reporting processes
Perform regression, functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Defect & Test Management
Track and manage defects using Jira or similar tools
Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices
Monitor test execution progress and communicate testing outcomes
Application & Production Support
Support development and testing efforts across development, QA, UAT, and production environments
Troubleshoot test cases and testing issues as needed
Provide support during releases and critical deployments
Agile Collaboration
Work closely with developers, analysts, and project teams in an Agile environment
Participate in sprint planning, testing reviews, and release activities
Lead or support UAT efforts when required
Required Qualifications
8+ years of automated QA testing experience
10+ years of manual test execution experience
Strong experience creating and maintaining QA test scripts
Experience with performance testing methodologies
Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as:
Playwright
Selenium/WebdriverIO
JMeter
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
JavaScript and HTML
Jira, XRay, or Zephyr
Accessibility testing
Experience supporting enterprise healthcare or government systems
Familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing pipelines
Work Environment
Hybrid schedule based in Austin, TX

Occasional after-hours or on-call support may be required
