Build Enterprise Data Solutions on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking highly experienced Senior Databricks Engineers to design, build, optimize, and support enterprise-scale data solutions within a large, complex technology environment.

This is not a general data engineering opportunity. The selected professionals must bring deep, hands-on Databricks experience and be able to independently deliver production-grade pipelines, lakehouse architectures, data models, governance controls, dashboards, and analytical applications.

The ideal candidate has substantial experience working across the full data lifecycle—from source ingestion and transformation through data modeling, governance, orchestration, visualization, deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, deploy, and optimize scalable data solutions on the Databricks platform.
  • Build and maintain high-volume ETL and ELT pipelines using Apache Spark, PySpark, Python, or Scala.
  • Implement enterprise lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake and medallion architecture principles.
  • Develop and manage Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers supporting analytics, reporting, and downstream applications.
  • Build production pipelines using Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines, formerly known as Delta Live Tables.
  • Create, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot batch and offline workloads using Lakeflow Jobs, formerly Databricks Workflows, or comparable orchestration tools.
  • Design dimensional data models using star and snowflake schemas.
  • Develop native Databricks SQL dashboards, Databricks Apps, and analytical solutions that turn complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Establish data validation, quality, lineage, governance, access control, and security standards.
  • Optimize Spark workloads, data storage, cluster utilization, job execution, and platform costs.
  • Analyze business requirements, existing processes, data flows, and technical constraints.
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements, system specifications, data models, and implementation plans.
  • Evaluate alternative technical solutions and provide clear recommendations based on feasibility, scalability, risk, cost, and business value.
  • Partner with business leaders, analysts, architects, engineers, security teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Present technical findings and analytical insights to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Support production operations, incident resolution, platform monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to CI/CD processes, source control practices, automated testing, and repeatable deployment workflows.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet or exceed every requirement below. Candidates missing any required qualification may not be considered.
  • 8+ years of professional IT experience supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of technology solutions.
  • 8+ years of hands-on Databricks experience, including building and optimizing ETL or ELT pipelines using Apache Spark.
  • 8+ years of data warehousing and dimensional data modeling experience, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • 8+ years of professional SQL experience supporting complex data transformation, analysis, validation, and performance optimization.
  • 8+ years of professional Python or Scala experience for large-scale data processing.
  • 8+ years of experience developing dashboards or applications natively within Databricks, including Databricks SQL dashboards, Databricks Apps, or comparable native capabilities.
  • 8+ years of experience implementing data governance, data quality, and data security practices.
  • 8+ years of experience building and managing production pipelines using Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines, formerly Delta Live Tables or DLT.
  • 8+ years of experience with Delta Lake, lakehouse architecture, and Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion data layers.
  • 8+ years of experience creating, scheduling, monitoring, and supporting production jobs using Lakeflow Jobs, formerly Databricks Workflows, Airflow, or a comparable orchestration platform.
  • Strong experience developing robust data models, validation frameworks, monitoring processes, and operational support procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts and present insights to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage complex technical assignments with limited oversight.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Austin, Texas.
  • Availability to provide occasional evening, weekend, or holiday support when coordinated in advance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting public-sector, state government, healthcare, human services, or similarly complex regulated environments.
  • Active Databricks certification, such as:
    • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate
    • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
  • Experience implementing CI/CD practices for data engineering solutions.
  • Experience with Git-based development, branching, code review, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices for Databricks notebooks, jobs, pipelines, dashboards, and infrastructure.
  • Experience working with sensitive or regulated data and implementing role-based access, auditability, lineage, and data protection controls.
The Environment
This role supports a large enterprise data ecosystem in which scalability, reliability, security, governance, and cost management are essential. The work will involve complex datasets, multiple stakeholders, production-grade Databricks workloads, and analytics solutions used to support critical business and operational decisions.
