Technical Lead Consultant – WellView Location: Houston, TX (Onsite) Position Type: Contract Industry: Upstream Oil & Gas
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead Consultant with deep expertise in WellView to lead technical strategy and support a large-scale application modernization and data migration initiative.
The ideal candidate will combine strong functional knowledge of upstream oil & gas operations with hands-on WellView technical expertise. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, data architects, and implementation partners to design migration strategies, lead technical decisions, and ensure successful delivery of enterprise WellView initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
WellView Technical Leadership
Serve as the technical subject matter expert for WellView architecture, backend technologies, and data models.
Analyze existing WellView configurations, customizations, reports, integrations, and historical data.
Provide guidance on drilling, completions, well operations, and well lifecycle management processes.
Data Migration & Modernization
Define migration architecture and technical roadmaps.
Lead source-to-target data mapping and transformation activities.
Design data migration, validation, reconciliation, and cutover strategies.
Identify data quality issues and develop remediation plans.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with business stakeholders, drilling engineers, data architects, vendors, and technical teams.
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Provide technical leadership throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Integration & Architecture
Design APIs and system integration approaches.
Support enterprise data architecture and modernization initiatives.
Recommend best practices for application and data migration.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience supporting upstream Oil & Gas applications.
Strong expertise with WellView 10.x / Allez.
Deep understanding of WellView data models, backend architecture, and operational workflows.
Experience leading enterprise application modernization or data migration projects.
Hands-on experience with:
WellView backend
Data Migration
Data Mapping & Transformation
ETL/ELT processes
Data Quality & Reconciliation
API & System Integration
Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting drilling and completions organizations.
Experience with enterprise data architecture initiatives.
Experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
Experience designing migration validation and cutover strategies.
